The photo above is of my Husband and Myself on our wedding day- December 19, 1999.

We chose to have our wedding on the Brisbane River on a Sunday afternoon just before sunset. Our marriage Celebrant married us on the back deck of our boat in front of our 60 guests with the city skyline gliding past us in the background.

We departed from the Dockside Marina and cruised The Brisbane River for four hours. We, and our guests were overwhelmed by the atmosphere and ambience of our special day, and our choice of a "River Wedding".

At sunset, our River and City Skyline is breathtaking and very photogenic.

We have no doubt it would be equally as appealing for a breakfast OR a brunch wedding.

In planning our "River Wedding" , we discovered there were boats available, but minimal assistance or choice of menu and especially decoration. They were quite limited and not exceptional enough for our very special day.

Therefore, we had to organise it ourselves, and found it to be very time consuming, and more than a little stressful- with deadlines to meet. Fortunately, having been in floristry all my working life, I had the contacts and ability (with the help of family members) to put it all together.

We were extremely happy with the end result and still receive many compliments on the event- including from the photographer, boat owners, and videotographer.

As a result…..River Weddings and Bouquets was born! We can promise we will be treating your wedding with as much enthusiasm and care as we did our own. We can create an atmosphere and memories you will cherish for the rest of your lives
